Playing with mirrors in a Vienna hostel. Playing with Mirrors at Wombats Hostel in Vienna.

We are about five weeks into the Hazy Shade of Autumn Tour and we are excited to announce we picked up HostelBookers as a sponsor for some of our accommodation stays for the remainder of our journey!!

As budget travelers, Beth and I have always been fans of HostelBookers. Not only are they generally cheaper than other hostel booking sites, but HostelBookers also doesn’t charge any booking fees, which gives us more money for drinks and street food. Plus, HostelBookers is really involved in the travel community and is always building bridges and trying to make travel easier for those on a budget – that’s one thing we have always really liked about them. One example is the Backpackers Recipe Guide they’ve been putting together for hungry and weary road warriors.

We were also impressed to see HostelBookers step up and get behind Michael Hodson’s Ultimate Train Challenge in September, in which he and two other travel bloggers—Jeannie Mark & Nora Dunn — traveled by rail from Lisbon to Saigon in 30 days racking up more than 44,000 miles of cold steel-rail travel, while raising thousands of dollars for their partner Vietnam Veterans of America Foundation (VVAF) to help children in Da Nang, Vietnam, who are suffering from disabilities caused by Agent Orange.

During the next month or so, we will be sharing our experiences with you about the hostels we stay in and giving full reviews of each one. HostelBookers.com  is already has a lot of property reviews and we hope to add to its resource by featuring stories on our site that will give you a deeper look into each property.

If you’re traveling in Europe and plan to stay in hostels stay tuned because we will have a ton of hostel reviews for you to check out!
